Stefan Bradl wins 2011 Moto2 championship
The battle for the Moto2 championship was over before it started at Valencia, with Spain's Marc Marquez (CatalunyaCaixa Repsol) unable to contend the race on medical grounds following an accident in practise for the Malaysian Moto2 round. This meant Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing) was the 2011 Moto2 champion, but the race was still a dramatic one, with many riders battling for position throughout the race distance.

Luke McNeill wins Unit FMX Pro Open event
Rockhampton's Project FMX compound was the venue for the Unit FMX Open, presented by RFDmx, on Saturday, October 29. The event also marked the final round of the 2011 Australian Underground FMX Championship, with points accrued in the Open counting towards the championship. In typically good, albeit hot, Queensland weather, the head-to-head competition saw Luke McNeill secure the Unit Open event, with Rhys Hillier taking out the Underground FMX series championship.
Colin Edwards to miss Valencia MotoGP
Due to injuries sustained in the tragic accident that claimed the life of Marco Simoncelli in Sepang, Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team rider Colin Edwards will not be fit to ride the YZR-M1 machine at the Valencia MotoGP round on November 6.

Determined to make up for a disappointing opening round, CDR Rockstar Yamaha's Jay Marmont looked sharp in the afternoon sessions of the second round of the 2011 Monster Energy Super X series, held at Wollongong's WIN Stadium. In his 'home' race, Marmont took the top spot in qualifying and then rode his YZ 450F to a heat race victory. However, rain would be a factor in the final for this round, as it was in round 1.

A dramatic finale to round two of the 2011 Monster Energy Super X series was made even more so when a huge thunderstorm hit the track at Wollongong's WIN Stadium. Gresini Honda team to attend Valencia MotoGP

Rob's 1937 Excelsior Manxman 350
The Excelsior Manxman was the Ducati 916 or Yamaha YZF R1 of its day. Built for racing, and with modern technology for its time in the form of a bevel-drive overhead camshaft, dry sump lubrication, 4-valve bronze head with fully-enclosed valve gear, and light alloy components, the Manxman was super-quick - easily able to reach in excess of 110kph.
