Team FNQ head south for Phillip Island 8 Hour
Team FNQ Lager will join 20+ teams for the 2011 event, which has been increased to 8 Hours to bring it into line with other endurance championship events around the world. Event organisers are using this year's 8 Hour as the first step in a planned campaign to bid for a round of the World endurance Championship in the future.
Boasting a real who's who of local talent, Team FNQ Lager consists of current Victorian Superbike Champion Steve Tozer, previous 6 Hour winner Ed Miller, current Interclub B Grade Superbike Champion Marcus Simpson and current Superstock Hughie Hoare Champion Dean von Schill. The quartet of riders represent one of the strongest and most experienced privateer line ups signed up for this year's event. Team FNQ Lager will undoubtedly be strong contenders in the Superstock 1000 class on their Yamaha R1, and are tipped as dark horses for the overall win, too.
Queensland's Blue Sky Brewery are supporting the team as main sponsor, hence the distinctive 'FNQ' livery. There'll be no missing the bold red and yellow bikes on the track!
The 2011 Phillip Island 8 Hour Australian Endurance Championship is scheduled for December 2 - 4. For more information about the 8 Hour, visit www.phillipisland8hour.com.au
