Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show: Who, What, When, Where

Newly-crowned double Australian Superbike Champion Glenn Allerton will visit the show over the weekend, appearing on the BMW exhibit with the Procon Maxima S 1000 RR that he dominated on throughout the season. Allerton will visit the exhibit at 11.30am and 2.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Team Suzuki Superbike rookie and last year's Supersport champion, Troy Herfoss will be on hand at 10.30am and 1.30pm on Saturday and 12.30pm and 2.00pm on Sunday.

Suzuki legend Shawn Giles, Australia's only triple Superbike champion, will be on hand to present the all-new 2012 GSX-R1000 to visitors at 3.00pm on Sunday.

Switching scenes from road racing to the dirt, JDR Motorex KTM's Ryan Marmont will stop by the InsureMyRide exhibit at 11.30am and 1.30pm on Saturday.

The stars of the popular Hart and Huntington/InsureMyRide Super X team, Luke Urek and Chris Camilleri will also make an appearance, meeting with fans from 11am and 1pm on Sunday.

Inspired by last year's successful bike-building challenge in Melbourne, the JUST Bikes team will host the JUST Bikes Build Off 2011. The event will see two build teams create their very own custom machines, each building a bike from the frame up over three days. As the teams compete to take the crown, visitors to the Sydney Expo will be able to see firsthand exactly how it's done - with the winner voted by you! You can check out the action and meet the teams at stand 121.

Pauly Fenech, writer and star of the popular Aussie slapstick SBS comedy Housos, will visit the Hunter Motorcycles stand throughout the event. In the show Fenech plays the role of Franky, a motorcycle rider, and is also well-known from his roles in Pizza and Swift & Shift Couriers. Fans can meet Fenech from 12pm-3pm on Sunday.

Members of the Quad Squad Expedition, Ted Davant and Jamie Kenyon, will be on hand along with one of the quads they rode to a new Guinness World Record. They travelled 27,141km to reach their goal " the longest distance ever travelled on a quad bike" but their journey was rocked by tragedy with the passing of travelling partner Valero Di Simoni. Visitors can meet with Davant and Kenyon at the Yamaha exhibit throughout the event.

The QBE stage will buzz with activity throughout the event, opening with the launch of the world's first motorcycle powered purely by compressed air at 10.30am on Friday.

Other attractions will include live airbrush artistry from Destino Custom Airbrushing, a presentation from the Sons of Anarchy, the Harley-Davidson Judgement Day, AMCN Bike of the Year, the launch of new motorcycle TV series Temporary Australians, a fashion parade from BikieChic plus a range of informative safety presentations and more.

The Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show is Australia's largest showcase of everything on two wheels, featuring a comprehensive display of bikes from all major manufacturers and products and services from a range of industry specialists.
