Ural release Limited Edition 70th Anniversary model
During World War II, almost 10,000 M72s were built and dispatched to the Soviet forces serving in the front lines. The Limited Edition M70 carries design touches from that original model, like Olive Drab paint, retro-style tank badge, a spare wheel, canvas tonneau cover for the sidecar, shovel, and yes, even a machine gun mount like the original!
Only 30 of these highly collectable models have been released worldwide, with Australia receiving two examples. Ural Australia's Jonathan Taylor said that both have already been snapped up by local enthusiasts.
The original BMW-based design is now decades old, but the M70, like the rest of the modern Ural range of sidecar outfits, is fitted with modern components like Marzocchi forks, Sachs shocks and Brembo brakes.
Built to last, Ural Australia reckon the M70 - and the rest of the Ural sidecar range - will give their new owners decades of service long after your plastic fantastic sportsbike has gone to the wreckers.
While the Australian-allocated M70s have gone, enthusiasts can still pick up the Ural 'retro' model, which features many of the same features of the M70 outfit, minus the Olive Drab paint and some design & detail changes.
