Vespa's 'Primavera' scooter returns
The first Vespa Primavera emerged in 1968, and while the latest version offers similar nimble performance and innovative lines, it uses ground-breaking technology, with an eye to the protection of the environment, to bring this easy and fun to ride scooter into the modern age.
A choice of powerplants will be offered, from the ultra-modern and ecological 50cc, to 125cc 3 valve and 150cc 3 valve engines.
Vespa says the new Primavera design is not just new, it's "radically new", with a new steel body that borrows some styling elements from the limited-edition 946, Vespa's prestige scooter.
The new Primavera is as agile as its predecessor, but offers greater stability and more comfort.
The new Primavera and 946 arrive at the end of one of Vespa-Piaggio's most successful years ever: from January to October, 2013, Vespa sold 158,000 units worldwide, 20,600 more than the same period in 2012.
Australia will receive the new Primavera in March, 2014, with pricing to be confirmed closer to release date.
