Three huge nights of Muscle, Classics & Motoring will go under the hammer with Burns & Co.
Nights 1 and 2 of the spring auction will carry the bulk of the premium vehicle offerings, with Night 3 to round out the auction with projects, affordable classics, motorcycles and motoring collectables. All vehicles are available for inspection prior to auction.

Aussie muscle takes centre stage
Australian muscle is once again one of the major strengths of the August-September catalogue, and among the most significant vehicles on offer is a very special piece of Ford Australia history.
The last saleable, standard-specification Falcon utility built by Ford Australia – a 2016 FG X XR6 Turbo - will cross the block as Lot 38. Finished in Smoke Metallic, fitted with the 4.0-litre Barra 270T six and a six-speed manual transmission, this vehicle was briefly in Ford Australia’s press fleet, hence the odometer reading of 3,340km. Part of the ‘Final4’ auction in 2016 that also offered the last XR6 Falcon sedan and XR6 Sprint built, this significant ute is accompanied by a Ford Australia Certificate of Authenticity and owner's manual that lists Ford Motor Company as the original owner.
Another standout Ford is a beautifully presented, tastefully modified 1978 Ford XC Fairmont hardtop. Finished in Platinum Blue with Houndstooth Ginger trim, the matching-numbers original 351 V8 has been stroked to 408ci as part of an extensive no-expense-spared build, producing a claimed 560hp.
For Holden enthusiasts, there is serious depth across both classic and modern performance in the spring auction. The headlining Holden is a 1975 LH Torana SL/R 5000 sedan presented in highly desirable Barbados Green with Slate Black trim. A factory L31/M21 car, this Melbourne-built Torana retains the specification that makes the SL/R 5000 one of the most recognisable Australian muscle cars of its era.
Alongside it is a 1976 Torana LX SS hatchback, now powered by a stroked 355ci V8 and paired with a TKO five-speed manual transmission. Having undergone a quality restoration and extensive mechanical upgrades, with A9X-style flares and bonnet scoop fitted, it offers a very different take on another of Australia's most sought-after Torana body styles.
Monaro fans need to check out the HK GTS 327 coupe and HJ GTS sedan in this auction, while there’s a modern equivalent in the form of a 2006 HSV GTO Limited Edition.
Further modern Holden performance cars up for grabs includes a 2013 HSV Gen-F GTS, Build No.201. Its supercharged 6.2-litre LSA V8 has been upgraded and is said to produce 405kW at the rear wheels, while the car has travelled just 49,385km.
The spring auction catalogue extends well beyond these Aussie muscle machines, with further Ford, Holden and HSV machinery available across the three nights, providing collectors with everything from restored classics to modern limited-production performance cars.
American icons headline Night 2
Night 2 shifts the attention towards American and international classics, with some particularly strong examples from Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge.
One of the headline vehicles is a 1972 Chevrolet C3 Corvette Stingray LT-1 convertible finished in War Bonnet Yellow. Introduced in 1970, the LT-1 specification combined Chevrolet's high-revving 350ci small-block V8 with serious performance credentials, and this four-speed manual example is presented in exceptional condition. Imported in 2006, it is accompanied by its folding soft top, removable hardtop and stand, import documentation, US title, VASS certificate, owner's manual and supporting paperwork.
Camaro enthusiasts will have their eyes on a 1968 SS coupe with a 350 V8, four-speed manual and the Rally Sport package. Finished in factory Tripoli Turquoise, with a black vinyl and houndstooth cloth interior, factory air con and power steering, this trophy-winning Camaro underwent a documented subframe-off restoration in the United States around a decade ago and still presents outstandingly. That restoration included rebuilding its original, matching-numbers engine.
Another Chevrolet taking things in a completely different direction is a spectacular 1957 Bel Air pillarless two-door sedan. A no-expense-spared custom build, this Bel Air is powered by a hand-built fuel-injected 468ci Big Block V8 and features a custom chassis, four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, coil-over front suspension, Boyd Coddington forged wheels and an extensively customised interior.
Mopar fans aren't forgotten, with a 1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340 bringing another dose of classic American muscle to the catalogue. This genuine, Rallye-tagged car features a 340ci V8 that’s been upgraded with a supercharger, matched to a Torqueflite automatic. With an RHD conversion and black vinyl interior, this Challenger has also been subject to a quality bare-metal respray.
Completing the featured American selection is an instantly recognisable 1965 Ford Mustang fastback, pairing one of the most desirable early Mustang body styles with Ford's 289ci V8. A ’66 fastback and restomod ’66 coupe are alternative Mustang offerings in this catalogue.
Collectable motorcycles join the action
Motorcycles form an important part of Night 3 of Burns & Co’s August-September Auction, led by a fascinating selection of British machinery.
Among the standouts is a 1948 Norton International, representing one of the great names in post-war British sporting motorcycles and a model with strong competition heritage. Also going under the hammer is a C1960 Triumph Tiger 110, offered unreserved from a private Victorian collection as part of a deceased estate.
Triumph fans are actually spoilt for choice in this auction, with a 1963 Thunderbird, C1970 Bonneville, 1969 Trident and 1972 T100R Daytona also in the catalogue. Other British offerings include a C1950s AJS single, 1961 Panther M120, 1971 BSA A65, 1963 Matchless G12 and a C1940s Royal Enfield pre-unit 500 twin.
With classic British motorcycles continuing to attract dedicated collectors, these and other two-wheel offerings, like a Ducati 750 SS and Honda Mini Trail, provide an interesting counterpoint to the high-performance cars filling the August-September catalogue.
For something very different, the spring auction also features a Nimbus. These Danish-built motorcycles all featured a 746cc inline four-cylinder engine and shaft drive. This restored 1950 example is a Model C that was introduced in 1934 and would remain in production until Nimbus closed its doors in 1959.
Three nights – hundreds of opportunities
While the headline cars will naturally command plenty of attention, the breadth of the Burns & Co. spring auction is one of its biggest strengths. Across the three nights, bidders will find everything from six-figure collector candidates and restored Australian muscle to American cruisers, European prestige vehicles, classic motorcycles, affordable enthusiast cars and restoration projects.
Night 3 changes the pace, providing opportunities for buyers looking for projects and more accessible classics, rather than premium collector vehicles.
