Ural release limited edition 'Yamal' outfit
Based around the Ural Ranger model, the name for the 2013 limited edition machine comes from the icebreakers that operate in the frozen waters of the Yamal Peninsula in northern Siberia, specifically the Arktika-class nuclear-powered icebreaker 'NS Yamal'.
Ural reckon their sidecar rigs are a lot like these icebreakers: durable, dependable, and able to conquer what typical motorcycles cannot!
The limited edition Yamal is spec'd with its own double hull like the boat: with weather proofing on the bottom and lower portion of the sidecar body and guards for additional protection.
Additional lighting, knobby spare tyre, carry rack, weather fairing and handguards are also added. Believe it or not, the Yamal also comes with an oar as standard equipment. What you're actually meant to do with it is anyone's guess, as the Ural Yamal, unlike its seagoing counterpart, is not amphibious!
Finish is flat orange powdercoat — so the Yamal will be spotted anywhere! - with a shark mouth graphic on the sidecar, emulating the appearance of the Yamal icebreaker.
The 2013 Ural Yamal—the only motorcycle that comes with an oar - will be limited to just 60 units worldwide. Australian importers, Ural Australia, hope to secure a handful of these limited edition models, with delivery expected in early 2013.
Depending on demand, only 3 or 4 Yamal units are likely to be available locally, so if you want one, contact Ural Australia soon on (02) 6778 7436. Further details at www.imz-ural.com.au
