Triumph Rocket 3 TFC specs released
Powered by a 2.5-litre (2458cc) triple – the largest production motorcycle engine in the world – the Rocket 3 TFC produces maximum power of 182PS (133.8kW) at 7000rpm and maximum torque of 225Nm at 4000rpm.
According to Triumph, these numbers make the limited-edition Rocket 3 TFC the most powerful production bike they’ve ever built. For comparison, the standard Rocket 3 produces 109kW and 221Nm, so the main gain is in power, rather than torque.
While the engine for the Rocket 3 TFC is based on the existing Rocket 3’s triple, there’s a capacity increase of 164cc via a larger bore, as well as a redesigned exhaust system with Arrow silencers and numerous lightweighting measures, including the use of titanium valves.
The gearbox in the limited-edition is a six-speed (five-speed in the standard Rocket 3) and a quickshifter has been added.
The other key difference is weight. Thanks to features like a full aluminium frame, single-sided swingarm and extensive use of carbon fibre, the dry weight of the Rocket 3 TFC is 290kg – a full 44.5kg lighter than the standard Rocket 3. Wet weight will be light, too, as the redesigned fuel tank is now 5 litres smaller at 19 litres.
As previously reported, the Rocket 3 TFC is an exclusive model under the ‘Triumph Factory Customs’ banner, with more high-end componentry, as well as bespoke styling and finishing.
Brembo brakes feature at both ends, there’s full LED lighting, TFT instrument display, a leather-trimmed seat and an upgrade to Showa suspension, too, while ‘carbon black’ paint with silver and gold detailing is exclusive to this model.
There’s specially-finished badging, with each unit in the limited-edition series identified by a numbered plaque on the top yoke.
Only 750 examples of the Rocket 3 TFC will be released worldwide. Australia’s allocation of that total is 25; all of which had been pre-sold before the end of June, with demand exceeding supply, according to Triumph Australia. Local deliveries are expected from late November.
