Triumph creates one-off Speed Twin 1200 Café Racer for 2026 DGR
Ahead of this year’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) on Sunday, 17 May, Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled a unique creation, based on the new Speed Twin 1200 Café Racer. Known as the Speed Twin 1200 Café Racer ‘DGR Edition,’ this one-off bike will be given away by Triumph, as part of the DGR’s Gentlefolk Competition that’s open to all participants in the annual charity ride for men’s health initiatives.

Now in its 15th year, the Australian born, but now global fundraising phenomenon that is the DGR continues to break records. Last year’s ride saw 127,000 riders dress dapper on their classic and classically styled motorcycles for 1,038 rides across 108 countries, raising US$7.6 million (AU$11.8M approx.) for charity partner, Movember. Since the first DGR in 2012, more than US$60M (AU$93.6M approx.) has been raised for prostate cancer treatment and research, men’s mental health and suicide prevention programmes, plus support for military veterans and first responders.

Triumph Support
Movember has been the DGR’s charity partner since 2016, but Triumph’s support goes back even further, to 2014. Every year since, Triumph has donated a motorcycle (or motorcycles) and merchandise to the event’s top fundraisers. Triumph has also created many unique motorcycles to promote the DGR, including a one-of-a-kind Triumph Thruxton RS DGR Edition, a custom '1959 Legends’ Bonneville T120 with matching Gibson Les Paul guitar, and a one-off Bonneville T100, the ‘Dapper Bonnie’. In 2023, Triumph released the Bonneville T120 Black DGR Edition, which was limited to 250 units worldwide.

For 2026, Triumph has turned its attention to their fresh Speed Twin 1200 Café Racer, which is the base for the one-off DGR Edition that will be presented to a DGR participant as part of the Gentlefolk Competition. While Triumph still offers prize bikes to top fundraisers, the Gentlefolk Competition is a random draw that’s open to all registered DGR participants who reach a minimum fundraising total. This ensures those who demonstrate their support men’s health programmes have a chance to win something truly special, even if their fundraising total is modest (see below for this year’s full eligibility requirements).
“For 2026, we wanted to create a motorcycle that is a tribute to the spirit of The DGR community’” said Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer, Triumph Motorcycles. “This one‑off Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer DGR Edition is a celebration of the craft and character of riders who make the DGR what it is.”

DGR Edition features
Defining features on the Speed Twin 1200 Café Racer DGR Edition include a bullet seat trimmed in genuine Harris Tweed cloth, plus a ‘15’ (instead of ‘12’) on the sidecovers to acknowledge the DGR’s fifteenth year.
With Harris Tweed being so closely linked to the ‘Ride Dapper’ ethos of the DGR, it was a natural choice to add this handwoven fabric. A spokesperson from the official Harris Tweed Authority said: “It is exciting to see Harris Tweed used in this way for the creation of the Gentlefolk Prize.
“We are proud to contribute to a motorcycle created to help raise money, celebrating global unity and the collective impact of riders everywhere.”

Beyond its special seat trim and graphics, the DGR Edition retains the Speed Twin 1200 Café Racer’s premium features that include Marzocchi front and Öhlins rear suspension, Brembo Stylema front brake calipers and Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tyres. Power comes from the Bonneville 1200 parallel twin, producing 77.2kW at 7,750rpm and 112Nm at 4,250rpm, with a six-speed transmission and chain drive completing the driveline.

Built-in tech includes Optimised Cornering ABS, Traction Control, three riding modes, an up-down quickshifter, and LCD/TFT instrumentation.
Clip-on handlebars with bar-end mirrors, a flip-up fuel cap and bullet seat hump, plus the distinctive Competition Green and Aluminium Silver paintwork with Aluminium Silver wheels are all unchanged from the standard Speed Twin 1200 Café Racer.
