Sydney Bike Show - November 17 - 19 2006
Over a dozen new models will be appearing at this year's Sydney Motorcycle Show at Sydney Olympic Park, November 17-19.
The launch of the all new models will add to a list of almost 400 current motorcycles, scooters and ATV's to be exhibited at the event.
The list of new models covers almost every motorcycle category from sports bikes, tourer's, adventure bikes, naked bikes, sports-tourer's and scooters.
"The motorcycle market is heading for its most successful year in 2006, and the unveiling of the 12 new models at the Sydney Motorcycle Show will add great stimulus to the exceptional growth of the last three years," said Peter Sturrock, chief executive, Federal Chamber of Automotive.
"Importantly, visitors to the show can get a preview of what 2007 holds in terms of innovation and diversity of model choice, which will be of great interest to new and current motorcyclists alike."
Yamaha will be showcasing its much-awaited 2007 Yamaha R1 at the 2006 Sydney Motorcycle Show, superseding the top selling 2006 Yamaha R1.
Yamaha will also unveil its new YFM400F Big Bear all-terrain vehicle.
Honda will have on display its unique 900cc concept scooter, the Honda E4-01, alongside two Honda Silver Wing scooters in 250cc and 600cc variants.
Ducati will also have its all new 2007 Ducati Multistrada 1100 and 1100S, Monster S4R Testastretta, Sport 1000 Biposto, and Sport 1000 Biposto S while Harley-Davidson will feature its new 2007 family and 2007 Buells.
BMW has announced that it will launch the 2007 R 1200 R at the show, as well as the new BMW F 800 S and F 800 ST.
The all new 1050cc Triumph Tiger heralds the English brand's return to the Sydney Motorcycle Show.
The Moto Guzzi Norje 1200 will headline the John Sample Automotive stand, along with the Aprilia Tuono Factory and two new scooters - the Sports City 250 and the Scarabeo 500.
The $50,000 MV Agusta F41000 will be front and centre on the Paul Feeney Group stand, as well as the stunning MV Agusta Senna dedicated to the great Brazilian triple world Formula 1 champion, Ayrton Senna.
The Paul Feeney Group will also have the new Husqvarna TE610, TE450 and TE250 and Cagiva Raptor 650 on display.
The industry owned Sydney Motorcycle Show is backed by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries' Motorcycle Group representing the major brands distributed in Australia including Aprilia, Bombardier, BMW, Buell, Cagiva, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Husqvarna, Hyosung, Kawasaki, Moto Guzzi, MV Agusta, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha.
To help facilitate the expected increased interest in this year's event, organisers have announced extended show hours for 2006 as follows: 9am - 8pm Friday and Saturday, 9am - 6pm Sunday.
