Snowy Ride to go ‘virtual’ for 2020
But, rather than deny riders one last chance to ride the Snowy Mountains region in support of a great cause, the organisers have rescheduled the actual ride for 2021, with a “virtual Snowy Ride” to take its place this year.

“Like so many other large-scale events, there was so much to consider in terms of protecting everyone’s health and safety but still providing the enjoyment of the Snowy Ride,” explained Sue Walter, CEO of SWCCF.
“We feel that the Virtual Ride enables everyone the opportunity to share their enjoyment of motorcycle riding in the safest way possible. We’ve also reduced the entry price in recognition that many out there have been doing it tough, not only with COVID-19, but with the drought, bushfires and floods before it.”

The virtual ride allows supporters of the SWCCF to register and conduct their own ride - anywhere, at any time and on any bike - between 1 July and 7 November, 2020, and then share images of their ride with the SWCCF via the ‘Virtual Snowy Ride Photo Competition’.
In place of the usual raffle ticket sales, registered entrants can request supporters to make a tax-deductable donation to the SWCCF instead.

Honda are backing the Snowy Ride again this year and offering up some great prizes to registered participants, including a new Honda Grom motorcycle and Honda garden equipment. There’ll also be minor prize draws each month.
“We’d love all of our supporters to register for the virtual ride, enjoy some riding – literally of any kind – and join the live presentation on Saturday 7 November, remembering that we will have one last opportunity in 2021 to celebrate in person at the final Snowy Ride on Saturday 6 November 2021,” Sue added.
