MV Agusta Turismo Veloce RC arrives
The product of MV Agusta, their Reparto Corse race team and the Castiglioni Research Centre (CRC), the ‘RC’ version of MV’s Turismo Veloce dual sport model has finally reached Australian dealerships - in strictly limited numbers – following its official unveiling last November.
Limited to just 250 units worldwide, the Turismo Veloce RC features a number of new tech and spec features developed by CRC, as well as a specific, racing-inspired livery that sets it apart from the regular Turismo Veloce and Turismo Veloce Lusso.
Focussed around a compact three-cylinder 798 cc engine – with a revised black surface treatment –the RC version of the Turismo Veloce features modifications to the valve guides, harmonic damper and chain tensioner to reduce engine noise, while redesigned engine mounts have increased longitudinal chassis stiffness, resulting in reduced vibration and improved handling.
The six-speed transmission is described as all-new, with revised gearing to suit the engine changes, as well as a slipper clutch and electronic quick shifter.
Alongside the mechanical updates, there has been further refinement to the MVICS 2.0 (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) electronic assistance system. Developed exclusively by MV Agusta, the latest MVICS includes EAS 2.0 (Electronic Assisted Shifting), as well as chassis stability control and a traction control system that’s 8-level adjustable and can also be disengaged entirely.
Improvements to engine control management provide what MV Agusta says is a more fluid and enjoyable power delivery in all conditions. To suit, the various engine map settings (Flexible ‘Tourism’, Full-Power ‘Sport’ and ‘Rain’ - limited to 80hp/59.6kW) have also been revised. Other improvements include revision of the Ride By Wire components, for claimed improvements in input sensitivity, response and throttle control.
The MVICS platform also electronically controls the front forks and Sachs rear shock absorber, with the semi-active ‘Skyhook’ suspension revised and tuned for the RC.
Standard touring-ready equipment includes an integrated Garmin navigation system, dedicated twin 30-litre side panniers, centre stand, adjustable windshield, heated grips and cruise control.
Other functional changes include a new rear sprocket, a redesigned pillion seat for improved ergonomics and comfort over long distances, as well as LED lighting combined with a DRL (Daylight Riding Light).
Beyond its race-inspired livery, the Turismo Veloce RC also features a carbon fibre deflector on the front mudguard as well as forged wheels with a design derived from the F4RC.
Available in very limited numbers, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce RC is priced from $29,880 (confirm pricing with your dealer). See your MV Agusta dealer to order and for further information, or go to: <a href="www.mvagusta.com.au>mvagusta.com.au</a>
