Manhattan's threesome
Styled in a similar vein to the BMW C1, the M3 features an encompassing canopy, which leans with the rider for better cornering agility, while the dual 8" rear wheels and 150cc engine remain upright, thanks to the torsion bar shaft drive. Vision through the deep front windscreen, with wiper, is good. Mirrors work well, too. While it looks bulky from some angles, it's comparable to two wheelers in terms of width. Storage options include small, lockable panniers in the front end and a big 72lt 'boot' at the rear. Front seat is comfortable, while pillion rides in style on a seat that includes fold down armrests. Of course, being registered as a scooter, a motorcycle licence and helmet are still required. While the private market for the M3 may be limited, it should find favour with security firms, site managers and sports venues. Manhattan currently has retail outlets in NSW, Victoria and Queensland. For more details, or to find out where your nearest M3 retailer is, phone Manhattan Scooters on 1300 10 13 13, or go to www.manhattanscooters.com.au to see videos of the M3 in action.
