Luke Power secures World Supersport ride
After serving an apprenticeship in the Victorian Road Racing Championship, the Australian Superbike Championship’s Supersport 300 and Supersport classes, then a solid season in the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship in the USA, Australia’s Luke Power will make his international racing debut in this year's FIM Supersport World Championship.

The 17-year-old from Victoria signed with Motozoo Racing by Puccetti in late November and will race a Kawasaki ZX-6R for the Italian team at all European rounds of this year’s World Supersport championship. At time of writing, the team’s participation in the flyaway rounds in Australia, Indonesia and Argentina was still to be confirmed.

“I am really happy to be racing in the World Supersport Championship 2023 with Motozoo Racing by Puccetti. I would like to thank the team for this great opportunity,” Power said.
“It will be truly incredible to be racing for Kawasaki, one of my favourite manufacturers since I was a kid and dreamed of starting racing in the World Championship.
“I’m super happy to be in the World Championship, it has been a dream of mine for a really long time. I can’t wait to get testing underway.”

Motozoo Racing Team Manager, Fabio Uccelli, added: “I’m really happy that Luke has chosen to race with us. He is a very young but very fast rider, who has managed to prove his worth in every category in which he has competed. He’s a very determined guy and I’m sure he will have no difficulty adapting to the new bike.”

For his debut international season, Power will be based out of the UK but will also spend time in Spain during the course of the year.
While the 2023 FIM Supersport World Championship gets underway at Phillip Island on 24-26 February, Power will most likely make his category debut at the Assen round on 21-23 April.
