CF Moto release new 650 NK
Featuring the first 650cc engine manufactured in China, the 650NK has spent 12 months undergoing extensive testing in Asia and Europe before its official launch to the global market, with Australia being one of the first to receive the new machine, which will likely be LAMS approved.
The 650NK's liquid-cooled parallel twin produces a claimed torque figure of 62Nm @ 7000rpm, which is on par with some of its 650cc competitors. Dry weight is quoted at 193kg, and twin front disc and single rear disc brakes are fitted as standard to 17-inch alloy rims. Seat height is reasonable for learners at 795mm.
Styling and specification of the 650NK is reminiscent of Kawasaki's ER-6n, while the black rims and bodywork, with red detailing on the frame, is reminiscent of the Sachs X-Road 250 (also distributed by Mojo Motorcycles).
Overall, the 650NK has a very chunky, menacing, almost streetfighter look that's sure to be a part of its appeal to both first time and experienced riders looking for an affordable mount with plenty of grunt. The debut model will initially only be available in the black/red colour scheme pictured.
CF Moto's Australian distributors, Mojo Motorcycles, expect the first deliveries of the 650NK to be in showrooms by early May, with an anticipated retail price of around $6,000 + ORCs - significantly cheaper than most Japanese competitors of the same capacity.
