ASBK Summer Series calendar announced
Ahead of the start of its new era, the Penrite Australian Superbike Championship presented by Pirelli (ASBK) has announced the calendar for its all-new summer series. This will replace the traditional ASBK calendar, with the new championship schedule consisting of six rounds, running from October, 2026, to March, 2027.
The move to a summer calendar essentially reverses the longstanding ASBK championship schedule that (usually) ran from February to October.

As previously reported, the move to a summer calendar is expected to bring multiple benefits. According to Motorcycling Australia (MA) and ASBK Management, these benefits will include the likelihood of more fans during better weather, reduced competition from AFL, NRL and four-wheel motorsport events that run over the winter months, plus the opportunity for international riders and Aussies in overseas championships to race here during the northern hemisphere off-season.

The all-new 2026-27 championship will get underway in conjunction with this year’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island, where ASBK will race for points for the first time. Rounds at The Bend, One Raceway and Queensland Raceway follow. The series then returns to Phillip Island, before concluding at Sydney Motorsport Park. The calendar is as follows:
Rd 1. 23-25 October, 2026 - Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, VIC
Rd 2. 13-15 November, 2026 - The Bend, SA
Rd 3. 4-6 December, 2026 - One Raceway, NSW
Rd 4. 15-17 January, 2027 - Queensland Raceway, QLD
Rd 5. TBC February, 2027 - Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, VIC
Rd 6. 19-20 March, 2027 - Sydney Motorsport Park, NSW

“This is a tremendously exciting time for the ASBK Championship as it continues to evolve and push new boundaries,” said MA CEO, Peter Doyle.
“It’s a seismic shift, and one that will elevate ASBK to a new level and amplify the amazing talent competing in the championship – from the stars of tomorrow in the FIM Oceania Junior Cup to the extraordinarily competitive Superbike class.
“There’s already a real buzz about the ASBK summer calendar, and we look forward to seeing it come to life in October at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.”
