Jacob Roulstone lands Euro Moto2 ride for 2026
Australia’s Jacob Roulstone is keeping his grand prix dreams alive with a shift to the Moto2 European Championship this year. After being dropped by the Red Bull KTM Tech3 Moto3 team at the end of 2025, the 20-year-old from NSW joins the European series with Team Ciatti (Boscoscuro), whose past riding roster has included Fermin Aldeguer, Yari Montella and Unai Orradre.

“The opportunity to progress to a Moto2 machine is one I am definitely ready for and doing it in partnership with an experienced and professional team like Team Ciatti is fantastic,” Roulstone said. “It’s the next ‘natural’ step for me.
“While I’m under no illusions in terms of the challenge ahead, I’m equally confident we can have a decent rookie season.”
In addition to the invaluable experience it’ll provide, the Moto2 European Championship will keep Roulstone visible to teams in the Moto3 and Moto2 paddock. Other Aussies to have raced in in the series include Senna Agius (championship winner in 2023) and Harrison Voight.

“Since childhood my dream has been to race MotoGP and I have never wavered from that,” Roulstone added. “I truly believe racing with Team Ciatti is the best decision to continue on the pathway to achieving that goal. The relationships the team have across all aspects of our sport provides the potential to step back into the world championship ranks and you can bet I will jump at any chance to do that.”

Starting his road racing career at state level, Roulstone then spent time in the Oceania Junior Cup, Asia Talent Cup, CEV European Talent Cup and Red Bull Rookies Cup. He stepped up to the Moto3 World Championship with Red Bull GasGas Tech3 in 2024, retaining his seat with the team (rebranded as Red Bull KTM Tech3) in 2025.

Across two seasons in Moto3, Roulstone’s best result was fifth, achieved at last year’s Indonesian Grand Prix, although he did qualify on the front row on multiple occasions. His start to the 2025 season was compromised by a fractured vertebrae that saw him miss the first two rounds.
Roulstone’s replacement at KTM Tech3 is Finnish teenager, Rico Salmela.
