2026 Manjimup 15000 cancelled
The 2026 edition of the Berry Sweet Manjimup 15000, Western Australia’s premier motorcross event, has been cancelled. Uncertainty over fuel pricing and availability in WA left many interstate competitors unable to commit to this year’s event, so organisers Dirt High Promotions made the tough decision to call it off.

Willie Thomson, owner of Dirt High Promotions, convened with the major interstate teams and international riders before making the decision. When most said they couldn’t commit to transporting equipment and personnel to WA due to the cost and availability of fuel, it made cancellation of this year’s event, which was scheduled for 29-31 May, the only option.
“We have tried everything to make this event happen,” Thomson said. “Riders and teams can’t commit to making it to Manji, which makes it impossible for us to organise this year’s race.
“Every rider and team I spoke to understands what this race means to the WA motocross community. (But) under the current circumstances, it’s just not possible.
“What makes Manjimup so special is not just the racing but the fans. We owe it to the riders, the fans and our sponsors to make sure everyone can afford to race, and come and see the best riders and teams go at it around the fastest track in the Southern Hemisphere.”

Cancellation of this year’s Manjimup 15000 follows the cancellation of the opening round of the 2026 WA State Motocross Championship after not enough riders licensed with Motorcycling Western Australia (MWA) entered the event. A number of organising bodies and riders in the state, including the Manjimup Motorcycle Club, chose not to renew their affiliation with MWA this year. Dirt High Promotions chose to independently apply for an MWA license for the Manjimup 15000, but still flagged this as a concern considering the lack of amateur licensed riders in the state.
Dirt High Promotions remain committed to making the Manjimup 15000 happen in 2027, adding that other Dirt High Promotions events will go ahead as planned. This includes the three rounds of this year’s Brookton Pony Express, which will be held in the WA Wheatbelt from July to September.
