Seller's Description
VERY RARE MODEL - 1974 TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE T120RV - 650CC. It’s an oil in frame, 5 speed, right hand change gearbox with front disc brake. Vin and engine numbers t120v kj58211 are all matching. Its in original condition apart from the top end work done and the painting. All other, including exhausts, gearbox, mufflers and carburettors are all original. I am the second owner of this bike. The bike was once owned from new, by an American jazz musician in North Carolina, USA. He did all the original 10,000 miles and at some stage let it sit for quite some time, inside his garage. He passed away at some stage and well after, i bought the bike from his widow around September 2014, via a triumph specialist, in North Carolina. I got the specialist to do the top end to the engine and i later had the bike painted in the Cherokee red and cold white colours. The carburettors were also cleaned, re kitted also by him, two new coils added and a new gel battery fitted. I obtained the title for the bike and had it imported into Sydney where i enjoyed riding it for Just under 300 miles on club plates (which are not transferable), until my knee gave way. A re occurring and old skiing injury. As it’s a kick start only, it is therefore difficult for me to keep this bike and it’s the primary And only reason I am selling, as I’m otherwise very happy with it. There is nothing to spend on this bike. It handles like a Bonneville and stops very well due to its disc brake, up front. The bike runs beautifully and looks the part too. This model is somewhat of a hybrid, very rare and manufactured in very low numbers of around 300 bikes in total. As the article enclosed states and because those very few that were ever made, either stayed in England or went to the USA I believe this one to be the only one of its kind in Australia. Not much is said about this model and not too many know about it, as there were so few ever made, but i have found a magazine that has done an article on it. Enclosed are two photos of pages 80 to 83 of an article from the January 2012 edition of the English magazine, "classic motorbike" explaining in summary and the very short history of the 1974 - t120 triumph Bonneville 650. It’s really a bike for someone who wants to enjoy and ride it, But also, who will see it go up in value. It’s the best investment in a bike, due to its rarity. Contact me for more photos. One very rare bonnie.
