Seller's Description
Laverda (the Bugatti of motorcycles?) produced many classic motorcycles but the 750 SF twins have become perhaps the most iconic of Laverda’s beautifully hand-crafted Italian sports tourers with outstanding balance, handling and performance. Of the 750’s, the 750 SF1 & SF2 are considered by many to be the pinnacle (last of the spoke wheel models with the benefit of racing development from the early 70s). These bikes are now very collectable as well as offering a very rewarding and reliable ride.
This SF1 (matching engine & frame numbers) was fully restored from the ground up 4000 km ago using new OEM parts where required (mostly supplied by Wolfgang Haerter – Canada) to effectively make it a near new ‘classic’ Laverda. The bike is mostly standard SF1 but has SF2 (1974) twin disc front end (completely new wheel and rotors) with Marzocchi forks & SF2 switch gear. The exact mileage of the bike pre restoration is not known but all working parts have been refurbished or replaced (including new original spec wiring loom, instruments calibrated & refurbished etc.) with a full engine rebuild and SFC high compression pistons and C5 cam fitted. This bike comes with both dual and solo seat as shown in the images. The bike runs beautifully and is a joy to ride, even by today’s modern bike standards. As it is club plated, the registration is not transferable so it will be sold unregistered (but Vic or NSW roadworthy can be supplied).
