Seller's Description
This fine motorcycle is an early pre-unit example of the marque that has been recently restored and is numbers matching.
With restoration completed in 2011, this Thunderbird has travelled only 200 kilometers in the hands of the current owner with all little issues fully sorted.
The bike was originally registered in the UK on 18 September 1952 (NDK 811) and comes with a certificate confirming the matching engine and frame numbers.
The bike has a rigid frame, optional “spring hub” suspension and remains mostly original aside from a handful of useful upgrades like the recently installed (more reliable) Amal 930 concentric carburettor). Original SU carburettor goes with the bike.
The wheels are standard 19-inch chrome shod with period correct Avon Speedmaster MK2 tyres. The bike comes with a workshop manual and a copy of “The Motorcycle Magazine” dated 7 August 1952 where it features on the front cover.
Rarely seen for sale on the Australian market.
