Seller's Description
With 44 motor, fully restored, 4 speed trans. Australian sourced bike. 1200cc. This bike was tucked up in someone’s shed whilst being restored until a change of circumstance brought me to it. The bike has had an engine rebuilt on plus 20 piston (I believe) it is also fitted with a 4 speed overdrive box which would make it a great rally bike. It also has a virtually new fringed Heather’s leather (USA) seat on it. Currently it is in Black primer so there are 2 prices one as it is which is $6,000 less than the painted option. If you choose the painted option, we will paint her up to 2 colour plus a pinstripe, all to your choice plus a set of appropriate tank decals thrown in as well. Motor is tight and will require running in but she runs and ticks over very well indeed. 1948 bikes were the first year of the aluminium oil pump however, this has been changed to the cast iron early plunger type which are reputed to be more robust, it is also fitted with an aluminium dash board which was only for one year. Most now have a chromed pressed tin version, also sports a modern CE generator left hand throttle right hand shifter. (This can be changed). #00007
