Yamaha releases 2009 FJR 1300A
It is descended from a long line of FJ and FJR models that have pushed the performance and sophistication envelope for more than 25 years.
2009 features include:
Smooth and fast. FJR's DOHC, 16-valve, liquid-cooled inline four delivers a silky spread of shaft-driven muscle over a wide rpm range (145 hp @ 8000 rpm and 99 ft.-lbs. of torque @ 7000 rpm).
Slant-block engine design uses stacked, tri-axis gearbox shafts to help minimise powerplant size, and is a fully stressed chassis member. It boils down to a lightweight frame design, optimised chassis geometry and great handling.
Constant-mesh 5-speed transmission utilises wide ratios to deliver relaxed long distance touring performance combined with seamless power and acceleration.
Adjustable seat and windscreen height, fairing, handlebar sweep angle and suspension can all be adjusted for optimum rider comfort.
