The FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) has presented a provisional calendar for the 2027 season. Combining familiar circuits with some new additions, next year’s calendar will also mark the last appearance of the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, as the Australian round will move to The Bend in South Australia from 2028.

Compared to this year, the 2027 calendar is mostly familiar, with some shuffling of the order, but there are two key additions. Valencia (aka Circuit Ricardo Tormo) in Spain makes a return to the WorldSBK calendar for the first time since 2010, while the Shanghai International Circuit will make its WorldSBK debut.
These additions to the 2027 calendar come at the expense of Balaton Park and Jerez. Balaton Park has also lost its slot on the MotoGP calendar for 2027, while Jerez has been dropped due to renovation work at the circuit that will be ongoing next year.

The addition of a Chinese round will bring some relevance back to the “World” part of WorldSBK, as Australia has been the only round held outside of Europe and the UK since 2023. WorldSBK’s China debut also reflects the rise of China’s motorcycle industry that’s been evidenced with QJ Motor and ZXMoto’s presence in this year’s World Supersport Championship.
Located in the Jiading District in Shanghai’s north-west, the Shanghai International Circuit was designed by renowned racetrack architect, Hermann Tilke. Opened in 2004, the circuit has hosted multiple two- and four-wheel motorsport championships, including MotoGP from 2005 to 2008, Formula 1 and Formula E, as well as regional series.

Phillip Island’s finale as WorldSBK’s season opener on 19-21 February, 2027, will be preceded by the traditional pre-season test at the same circuit on 15-16 February. Portimao in Portugal hosts Round 2, with Valencia’s return scheduled for Round 3, followed by Assen.
Aragon, Most and Misano, then Donington Park in early July will bring riders up to the mid-season break, which in 2027 runs for almost two months. Racing returns in September at Magny-Cours in France, followed by Cremona and Estoril. The all-new Shanghai round will close out the 2027 calendar in late October.

As in past years, World Supersport (WorldSSP) will run at all twelve rounds on the 2027 calendar as the WorldSBK undercard. The Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) and this year’s new World Sportbike Championship (WorldSPB) will be contested over six and eight rounds, respectively. These two classes will have their championships spread across the European rounds. The only circuits to host all four classes in 2027 will be Portimao, Valencia, Misano and Magny-Cours. Portimao will also host the WorldWCR and WorldSPB pre-season tests in March.
