WATERS WINS 2009 AUST SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP

Team Joe Rocket Suzuki rider Josh Waters dominated both races at the final round of the 2009 Australian Superbike Championship to claim the Championship in his rookie season.

Trailing defending champ, Honda's Glenn Allerton, by two points going into the final round, twenty two year old Waters held off Allerton to win the first race, which also saw Honda's Wayne Maxwell crash out of championship contention on the opening lap.

Waters backed up to win the second race and claim the number one plate in a thrilling winner-take-all finale to the seven round series.
