Victory announce new Gunner cruiser
According to Victory, the Gunner came about in response to rider demand for a bike that combined heavyweight muscle with killer looks.
The new model is based on the 8-Ball cruiser, but has "throwback styling" in the form of a chunky front tyre and cleverly-designed 24-spoke cast aluminium 16-inch rims that give the impression of spoked wheels. Tyres are Dunlop 491s front and rear.
Suede titanium paint, black rims, mirrors, pipes and minimal chrome all add to the old skool look, but the powerplant is Victory's modern Freedom 106ci (1731cc) v-twin, hooked up to a 6-speed constant mesh transmission with belt final drive.
Seat height comes in at a low 25-inches (635mm), so it should accommodate most riders. Other essential dimensions include a 294kg weight (wet or dry not specified), 120mm ground clearance, 32 degree rake, 1647mm wheelbase, 940mm width and 2372mm overall length.
Standard with all the blackout-style parts, there are a number of Victory Accessories to allow all levels of customisation, too, with some of the factory accessories including a 'Solo Mission' solo seat, V-drag handlebars, luggage rack, cam tension covers, and a broad range of billet parts.
Pricing is yet to be revealed, but a release date for the Gunner has been pencilled in for the middle of 2014.
Further details and updates on the new Gunner will be available closer to the new model's release date at www.victorymotorcycles.com.au.
