Victorian Safe Routes Scooter Rally on again this November 13
This year's rally is scheduled for Sunday, November 13, and as in past years, the rally will start from St. Kilda's Luna Park, and travel through the city to Carlton's Argyle Square, where there will be stalls, live music, a scooter display and other activities.
Event organisers, the VACC, welcome all scooter riders to join them for the rally, which has attracted big numbers in past years. The rally is also used as a reminder for both politicians and motorists alike of the value of scooters in easing inner city traffic congestion.
Aside from the request for 'safe routes' for inner city scooter riders, the rally will also be used to bring attention to topics like filtering, box turns for scooter riders at busy intersections, bicycle lane access, a six month registration scheme, dedicated scooter training courses and other scooter-related issues.
Details on how to register will be available closer to the event date. For more details, phone: (03) 9829 1148.
