TICKET GUIDE – 2025 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix
Words and Photos: Mike Ryan, unless indicated
Set alight by the dominance of Marc Marquez on the factory Ducati Desmosedici, the 2025 MotoGP World Championship has been a dramatic, action-packed affair so far. That action will continue at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit this 17-19 October for the 2025 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Along with a resurgent Marc Marquez (who won last year at Phillip Island), the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix will feature Aussies in action across all classes, with Joel Kelso and Jacob Roulstone in Moto3, recent race-winner Senna Agius in Moto2 and fan favourite Jack Miller in MotoGP. Last year, Agius finished on the podium, but Roulstone, Kelso and Miller had a tough weekend, so they will be looking for a better result on home soil this time around.

In terms of the championships, Marquez had a stranglehold on the MotoGP title fight at time of writing, with Jose Antonio Rueda similarly dominant in Moto3, but the Moto2 race was very tight, so there’ll still be plenty to play for this October.
Will Marquez be MotoGP World Champion by the time he comes to Phillip Island? Will current champion Jorge Martin make a resurgence? Will a Moto2 or Moto3 champion be crowned at Phillip Island? You’ll have to get to Phillip Island this October and find out!
Tickets for this year’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix are selling fast, with some of the most popular grandstand, Hero Walk, VIP and Paddock Pass tickets already sold out. There are still plenty of opportunities to see and enjoy everything the Island has to offer, though.
If you’re making a day of it, prices for single-day Island Pass (General Admission) tickets are unchanged from last year, while campground ticket prices have actually decreased. There’s also a new glamping option to make your Island weekend a luxurious one!

Historics are Back
After showcasing the future in 2023 and 2024 with the bLU cRU Oceania Junior Cup, this year’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix will celebrate the past, with the Superbike Masters to feature in the National Support Paddock. It’ll be a homecoming of sorts, as the historic racers supported the very first Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix in 1989.
Open to Period 6 (1983-1990) and Period 7 (1991-1999) historic race bikes, the Superbike Masters will provide a blast from the past over three races, with the likes of Suzuki GSX-R 1100, Honda VFR 750, Yamaha FZR 1000 and other classics in action.
Last year’s finale for the national Superbike Masters (held as part of the Australian Superbike Championship) saw 20 bikes grid up. Similar numbers are expected at Phillip Island this October, with the entry list to likely include current Superbike Masters Champion, Ryan Taylor, along with a surprise or two, as past champions have donned the leathers for this popular and tightly contested category.
For fans of two-wheel racing as it used to be, this is part of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix weekend that should not be missed!
