Suzuki RM-Z250. October 2008
The 249cc, four-stroke, DOHC engine is engineered to perform, delivering impressive power throughout a wide powerband.
An aluminium alloy cylinder, with Suzuki's Composite Electro-chemical Material cylinder coating, and Suzuki Advanced Sump System form part of the compact, low sitting and lightweight engine.
Through its AC-CDI ignition system and control unit, ignition timing and rev limiter are set for optimum high rpm and over rev performance. With an automatic decompression system for kick starts and right handlebar mounted hot starter, getting the RM-Z250 going is quick and simple. Developed in competition, a high strength, twin-spar aluminium-alloy frame gives riders agile handling and confidence through whoops.
The 47mm inner tube, Showa inverted, twin-chamber front fork offers compression and rebound damping, and 310mm of wheel travel, working in conjunction with a Showa rear shock absorber and lightweight swingarm. Race inspired front and rear brake wave rotors provide optimised cooling performance and mud deflection.
Rider feel and comfort is enhanced by lightweight and high strength serrated footpegs, and Renthal tapered aluminium handlebars with a Renthal-labelled handlebar pad.
Aggressive new graphics in 2009 accompany Suzuki's classic Champion Yellow livery, while a gold plated drive chain and axle blocks complete the factory racer look. Suzuki's 2009 RM-Z250 is now available from local Suzuki dealers, for an RRP of $9,990.
