Suzuki confirms pricing for new GSX-R1000
The GSX-R1000 will arrive in late June, priced at $21,990 + ORCs (MSRP $23,990 rideaway). The limited-production GSX-R1000R is expected in October, with a price tag of $25,490 + ORCs (MSRP $27,490 rideaway). Both models are backed by Suzuki's two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty.
With more than 600 new parts compared to the outgoing model, Suzuki describes the sixth-generation version of their GSX-R100 as "the most powerful, hardest-accelerating, cleanest-running GSX-R ever built."
It's also claimed to be the most compact, the most aerodynamic and the best-handling GSX-R1000 ever, with smoother throttle response, better combustion efficiency and a supremely effective electronic engine management system.
Both models include a 148.6kW/117.6Nm 1000cc engine with ride-by-wire throttle, an advanced electronic management system with traction control and three riding modes, an all-new, lighter aluminium frame, Showa suspension, LED lighting and multi-function LCD instrumentation The GSX-R1000R adds launch control, quick shifter, LED DRLs, lightweight battery and upgraded suspension.
The all-new Suzuki GSX-R1000 will be available in Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Matte Black No. 2 or Pearl Mira Red, while the GSX-R1000R will be offered in a choice of Metallic Triton Blue or Glass Sparkle Black.
