Super Soco CPx lands in Australia
After being previewed in June, Super Soco’s ‘CPx’ electric scooter arrived in Australia in July, offering emissions-free commuting at an affordable price.

Super Soco’s first full-sized scooter and the brand’s #1 seller in the UK, the CPx features 16-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels, 31mm forks and offset monoshock rear suspension, disc brakes and CBS linked braking, LED lighting, digital instrument display, keyless ignition, alarm, steering lock and a USB charge port.

Powering the CPx is a 4kW electric motor delivering a claimed 171Nm – comparable to a 125cc ICE scooter. The hub-mounted motor uses an FOC vector controller and is fuelled by a 45Ah lithium-ion battery that delivers a claimed range of 75km between charges.

Importantly, there’s room in the underseat battery bay for a second battery, increasing range to a claimed 140km.
Using a 90V-240V AC fast charger, recharge time is 3 – 4 hours, while an integral battery management system keeps batteries in “peak condition” for longer.

Top speed is listed at 90km/h, but consistent high speeds drain the battery faster. Three riding modes allow rider control over power delivery and speed. There’s a reverse gear, too, which isn’t really required on a scooter weighing a claimed 107kg. Nevertheless, it’s a feature that will be welcomed by the majority of owners. (It should be noted that the listed weight appears to be “dry”, ie. without batteries. Overseas reports list 127.6kg weight with one battery and 146kg with two, so batteries weigh around 20kg each).
Like most electric vehicles, climbing ability is the CPx’s weak point, with a max climbing angle of just 17 degrees.

A tall windscreen and rear luggage rack are standard, with seat height of 760mm, ground clearance of 154mm and LxWxH of 2022 x 790 x 1442mm.
Offered in Sonic Silver, Titanium Grey and Phantom Black, the Super Soco CPx electric scooter is priced from $7,690 ride away. Additional batteries are available at extra cost.
