SP' HONDA CBR 1000RR ANNOUNCED WITH RACE-TUNE OPTION

The unique race tune offer allows customers to have their new CBR 1000RR SP individually tailored by Team Honda Racing mechanics to suit their requirements, providing a certificate with the details of the dyno reading and suspension set-up to assist with future servicing.

For a package price of $1,499 over the MLP of $22,499, your CBR 1000RR SP will be sent to the headquarters of Team Honda Racing for personalised suspension set-up and dyno tuning.

The CBR1000RR SP boasts Öhlins front and rear suspension, Brembo mono block front brake calipers and a single seat unit. Brembo calipers were chosen for their compatibility and performance potential with the Öhlins fork. The caliper body is standard, but uses special pistons, with pad material designed to give consistent and linear feel when braking hard from high speed.

The 999.8cc inline, four-cylinder engine shares the same updated cylinder head as the standard 2014 CBR 1000RR Fireblade, along with improved inlet/exhaust gas flow and combustion efficiency, and an extra peak power boost.

The SP's die-cast aluminium twin-spar frame is based on that of the standard 1000RR, with modifications to match the Öhlins suspension. The aluminium gull-wing swingarm operates through a MotoGP-derived Unit Pro-Link rear suspension. Fully adjustable, the 43mm inverted fork and rear shock were developed specifically for the CBR1000RR SP to offer superbly balanced handling and all-round performance.

Offered as a sleek single seat unit, the CBR1000RR SP also features unique Tricolour livery that is complemented by Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP gold tyres.

Honda Australia says the strictly limited CBR1000RR SP model will only be offered once, so be quick to secure yours.
