Sherco expands kids’ balance bike range
Sherco’s range of electric-powered balance bikes for young kids has been expanded with the release of the EB16 Factory.
Based on the larger of Sherco’s two existing offerings (the EB12 is the other model), the EB16 Factory takes the premium ‘Factory’ model classification from Sherco’s enduro lineup and applies it to the EB16 electric balance bike.
Like the EB16 it’s based on, the EB16 Factory provides a silent, environmentally friendly and fun way for young riders (aged 5-6 or up to 40kg weight) to learn the fundamentals of motorcycling, like hand-eye coordination, balance, throttle and braking control and alertness.
Features specific to the EB16 Factory start with a 250W brushless motor that’s more powerful than the 170W motor in the EB16. There’s also a rear disc brake, front suspension, new hand grips, a new brake lever, higher-mount handlebar and tyres with a more aggressive tread pattern.
With the more powerful motor, top speed rises from 21km/h to 24km/h, so the two-mode speed control has been increased to three modes.
Factory styling updates include blue anodised handlebar and seat clamps, blue 16-inch wheels and Sherco Factory decals.
No battery data is listed, but presumably the EB16 Factory runs the same 5.2Ah lithium-ion battery as the EB16, as run time is up to 60 minutes between charges. Like the EB16, the EB16 Factory offers the option of a non-powered mode for kids to push, balance and coast before activating the motor.
Priced from $999.00 RRP, Sherco’s EB16 Factory kids’ balance bike is backed by a 12-month parts-only warranty, with an Australian 240V household charger, owner’s manual and toolkit included.
The EB16 Factory is now available at all Sherco dealers.
