Rivamoto part ways with Bryan Staring
The deal had been for the entire 2014 season, ensuring there was an Australian presence on the grid at every World Supersport round this year, but the arrangement has come to an end after only one round - the Phillip Island season opener.
Rivamoto "reluctantly" announced that the partnership between themselves and Staring "will not continue at this time," according to a release on worldsbk.com
The release went to state that money was at the core of the issue, and that despite the best efforts to secure funding, the team couldn't continue with the current arrangement, which effectively means that Rivamoto will now likely to be looking for a rider who can pay for his ride for the remainder of the 2014 season.
Staring failed to finish the race at Phillip Island, suffering clutch problems in the first, red-flagged stanza, with the problems repeated in the shortened, 5-lap dash that followed.
Rivamoto Team Manager Jeremy McWilliams said: "It is extremely disappointing that we cannot continue with Bryan. He is an extremely talented rider and we wish him well.
"Rivamoto has been and will continue to negotiate with our sponsors and potential new partners to ensure that we can complete the season. We have already held talks with a number of potential riders and are confident that we will be on the grid at Aragon."
The Aragon (Spain) World Supersport round takes place on April 13.
