Remy Gardner hoping for Moto3 wildcard
Remy began racing in Australia in 1998 as a ten year old. One of Gardner's two sons, Remy now resides in Sitges on the outskirts of Barcelona, Catalunya, with his family, and has spent the last two seasons in Spain's CEV Repsol championship, the national equivalent of Moto3.
In 2013, he finished on the podium of the FIM European Road Race Championship at Albacete behind Karel Hanika and Bryan Schouten.
"I am pretty confident he is going to be strong this year," Wayne Gardner said of Remy, who will turn 16 next month.
"He is fast now, we have been through the hard yards and we have some good choices for teams. I hope to get him into the Spanish championship again - that is the priority and that will happen - but I would also like to get him into about four Moto3™ (World Championship) wildcard entries.
"What Remy does and which team he goes with will depend on how it can also help us with those wildcard entries."
Wayne Gardner was the 500cc World Champion in 1987 with Honda.
