Raider offers rare Italian bikes
The four motorcycles offered by Raider are part of a wider, Europe-based collection that features some mouth-watering machines, including an Egli Vincent, Ducati Desmosedici RR, MH 900E, Supermono, Bimota DB1, and a number of NCR race bikes.
Details on the four bikes consigned to Raider are as follows:
1975 Laverda SFC.
In impeccable condition and fully restored including engine & drive train. The matching numbers bike has travelled less than 500km since restoration and everything on the bike is correct. Fast becoming as sought after as the Ducati Green-Frame, this lovely machine is pictured in the Massimo Borghesi Registro Storico Laverda SFC, and has Italian logbook and papers.
Egli Ducati 1000 Mille.
The engine in this bike was built by Mr Caracchi (the 'C' in NCR, Nepoti & Rizzi being the other two founders of NCR). The Egli frame was originally built in 1974 to accept a Round-case engine and is one of only 11 such frames built by Fritz Egli between 1973 and 1976. A detailed report and invoice of all engine work performed can be provided by Caracchi himself. The bike runs and rides beautifully, and is quite possibly the most desirable Egli other than the Vincent.
Ducati 851 Tricolore Kit.
The rarest of all 851 Tricolores is the 'kit' model, of which only 200 were built expressly for AMA Championship. This example has received a fully rebuilt engine with zero use since completion. It has the 17 inch one-piece Marvic wheels, but they are painted black. All other parts are present including the megaphone reverse-cone racing mufflers.
1975 Ducati 900SS Imola. (no photos available)
An unfinished project; the engine is a genuine factory right-hand gear change racer, number XXXXXX DM860.1, that has been fully rebuilt with zero use. The bike features an Italian Sassi chromoly frame (original frame was replaced due to racing crash 20 years ago), and comes with wire-wheels (Akront rims, but correct hubs etc.), bodywork, Imola tank, solo seat, fairing, etc., but no exhaust. Over AU$9K of receipts on the engine rebuild can be provided. While set up for racing, this 900SS could be easily fitted with lights for road use.
At time of posting, Raider have advised us that the Laverda SFC may be sold. Further enquiries on any of the bikes listed above should be directed to Raider Motorsport. Phone: (02) 6651 2405, or email: [email protected]
These bikes will remain exclusive to Raider only until Thursday 10 May.
