Prodrive '115' exhaust for speedway
Dubbed '115', the new silencer has been developed in response to the upcoming 115 db noise limit for motorcycles in FIM-sanctioned speedway events that comes into effect from January 1, 2010. Independent tests in the UK have shown the Prodrive 115 matches the currently-used (non-compliant) King exhaust and significantly betters the only other muffler currently homologated to FIM regulations in terms of power/torque, engine temperature and air/fuel ratio.
Prodrive claim the beauty of the 115 is that it not only meets noise limits without any reduction in power, but can be readily applied to existing engines with the minimum of re-tuning, avoiding considerable expense. Prodrive also believe the base of the design could be applied to many other forms of two wheel motorsport. While there's no requirement for it in Australian competition yet, adoption of the Prodrive 115 may be seen as an answer to noise complaints against urban speedway & motorsport venues. www.prodrive.com/
