New role for Rutledge
“2020 holds new opportunities to grow outside of motocross competition,” Rutledge explained. “I will be stepping away from competitive racing and focusing on my career with coaching and personal training.”
A multiple national champion, including back-to-back Australian Women's Motocross and Queen of MX titles in 2018/19, Rutledge has been racing professionally for more than a decade. Successful at international level, including runner-up finishes in the FIM Womens’ World MX Championship in 2013 and 2014, Rutledge has also competed - and won - in enduro events like Finke and the Hattah Desert Race.
“I’m eager to focus on my future with my amazing supportive partner Aaron,” Rutledge added. “My job as a personal trainer will work in with motocross coaching and we will take some time to enjoy life. I have put my life into racing and training nearly every weekend for the past 10 years and I never really had any down time. As much as I love racing, it’s time to expand my focus.”
As well as coaching, Rutledge will serve as an ambassador for Kawasaki Motors Australia, continuing an association with the brand that covers almost the entirety of her professional racing career. Kawasaki Motors Australia are pleased to continue working with Rutledge heading into 2020.
“Motocross is in my blood, I will continue to ride for fun, be a coach and mentor the next generation,” Rutledge added. “I am excited for what 2020 has in store for me.”
