The provisional calendar for MotoGP’s new technical era in 2027 has been released. Along with 850cc engines, Pirelli tyres, reduced aero and reduced electronic aids, the premier class will also see a number of other rule changes for the 2027 season.
While a lot will change on track, the calendar for the coming season remains broadly similar to 2026, with only one new addition. Of course, there’s a major change for the Australian round, with the Adelaide Street Circuit to replace Phillip Island.

The main change for 2027 is the return of a round in Argentina. Although the South American country hosted MotoGP as recently as 2025, that was at the Autódromo Termas de Rio Hondo in the country’s north. For 2027, the race weekend moves to the Autódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez on the outskirts of the capital, Buenos Aires. The last time this 4.1km, 16-corner circuit hosted a grand prix was in 1999, when Kenny Roberts Jr won the 500cc class, Olivier Jacque was victorious in 250cc and Marco Melandri won the 125cc race.
MotoGP’s return to Argentina (at the expense of Balaton Park in Hungary) is described as strengthening the sport’s presence in South America. The round at Goiania in Brazil remains, with Brazil to also host MotoGP’s 2027 Season Launch in Rio de Janeiro in February.

Buriram in Thailand will be the opening round in 2027, as it was in 2025 and 2026. Lusail in Qatar moves from Round 4 upto Round 2. The Brazil and Argentine rounds are next, held on consecutive weekends, followed by the USA round at Circuit of the Americas.
The first European round for 2027 will be at Jerez in early May, followed by familiar venues – Le Mans, Mugello, Catalunya, Assen, the Sachsenring and Brno before the summer break. These are mostly in similar dates to this year, although Catalunya moves ahead a month, to plug the gap left by Balaton Park.

After the summer break, racing resumes at Silverstone in August, followed by Spielberg, Misano, Aragon and Portimao. Compared to this year’s calendar, Spielberg and Aragon essentially swap places for 2027, with the others in familiar calendar slots.
The second set of flyaways kick off at Motegi in October, with Sepang and Mandalika on the following weekends for a back-to-back-to-back stint. A two-week break follows before MotoGP makes its much-discussed - and controversial - debut at the Adelaide Street Circuit.

Scheduled for 12-14 November, the 2027 Australian GP will be the penultimate round on the calendar, so it may see a title decided in MotoGP, given the new technical rules and rider changes. It’ll also present the first chance for Aussies to see Senna Agius in the flesh on the MotoGP grid, along with the other MotoGP debutants for 2027 – Daniel Holgado, Izan Guevara, David Alonso and Nicolo Bulega.
The 2027 MotoGP season concludes with the traditional Valencia finale, after which the champions in all classes will be officially crowned.
