Mansory Zapico Custom Bike
At the Geneva Motor Show they unveiled Zapico, a powerful luxury motorcycle developed in collaboration with world famous bike specialist Thomas M George. Mansory special editions tend to polarize people into lovers or haters, but Zapico has taken most critics by storm, with this signature machine bristling with carbon fibre and unique one-off components manufactured in the Mansory factory.
The custom cruiser is powered by a 124 cubic inch V2 engine matched to a 5-speed transmission, provided by American engine builder S&S. The large two cylinder engine delivers 160hp (118kW) to the monster rear tyre and can accelerate the 340kg bike from zero to 100kmh in just 3.3 seconds. The bike is not over the top in the same way as, say, a Ness Signature Special, but boasts a simple yet lavish design, with numerous carbon fibre touches. Special components and fairing built by Mansory include the front mask, bug spoiler, seat module, primary shield and silencer, with the most customised feature on the bike being the fuel tank. The only things made out of metal on the Mansory Zapico are the engine, exhaust and a few aluminium applications on the fuel tank, spoiler and rear fender.
The rear rim measures 10x18-inch, while up front is a 3.5x18-inch. They are wrapped in 280/35/19-inch and 130/60/18-inch tyres respectively.
The bike leatherwork is also noteworthy, and is testimony to the exquisite craftsmanship applied. A price for the Zapico was not revealed and the extravagant show machine delivers the simple message that if you have the money to pay for it Mansory will build it.
