KTM previews 2023 50 SX Factory Edition
Following its unveiling at the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, KTM has confirmed their 2023-model 50 SX Factory Edition will be arriving in Australia this September.
Based on the 50 SX, the Factory Edition adds a long list of premium components to give junior riders a taste of factory-level performance, with those components the product of ongoing collaboration between KTM engineers and racers of all sizes.
Upgrade parts include a full FMF exhaust system (Fatty pipe and Powercore 2 silencer), CNC-machined aluminium clutch and ignition covers, premium Dunlop Geomax MX 53 tyres, a special gripper seat and grey ODI grips, which at 28mm diameter, are ideal for young hands.
The 50 SX’s WP XACT suspension with AER technology is updated, with the USD forks upsized from 35mm to 48mm and WP’s Progressive Damping System added to the rear monoshock.
This is on top of standard 50 SX componentry that includes Formula brake calipers on 160mm wave discs front and rear, black anodised wheel rims and a Neken tapered handlebar.
As with the 50 SX, power output from the liquid-cooled 50cc engine can be adjusted on the Factory Edition using a kit from the KTM PowerParts programme.
The single-cylinder two-stroke gains new carburettor jetting on the Factory Edition, complemented with a smaller rear sprocket and race-derived configuration for the adjustable, multi-disc automatic clutch that functions without the need for a clutch lever and pedal.
The finishing touch is a set of factory-inspired, in-mould graphics in blue and orange, complementing the standard KTM orange plastics and orange gripper seat that’s added for the Factory Edition.
The 2023 KTM 50 SX Factory Edition is due for Australian release in September, with pricing still to be confirmed at time of writing. See your KTM dealer for more details.
