KTM 1290 Super Duke GT arrives
Designed for comfortable two-up travel all day long, the GT features a 129kW / 144Nm version of the Super Duke R's 1290cc v-twin, as well as heated grips, adjustable windshield, standard cruise control and a 23-litre fuel tank.
A raft of active safety and rider-assistance tech include KTM's 'MTC' (Motorcycle Traction Control); a 3-mode system that's lean sensitive and adjusts in milliseconds to respond to loss of traction.
The Suspension Control Unit (SCU) measures the bike's load - including pillions and luggage - and adapts the suspension damping to suit both the load and the riding surface. Like the MTC, this semi-active suspension is also three-mode adjustable, with 'comfort,' 'street' and 'sport' settings.
Lean-angle sensitive cornering ABS is standard, which can be switched off or partially disengaged in what KTM calls 'Supermoto' mode.
Optional is Motor Slip Regulation (MSR) that intervenes if engine braking is detected to be too high.
Available now and priced from $26,995 (+ ORCs), KTM are offering free Genuine KTM panniers with each new 1290 Super Duke GT, but only for a limited time.
