Kawasaki release updated KLR 650
The main changes to warrant the upgrade tag refer to the suspension. The 41mm telescopic forks now feature stiffer springs, increased oil height and revised damping settings. In conjunction with this, the Uni-Trak and single-shock rear suspension feature a stiffer spring and stronger rebound damping.
Kawasaki says these changes better accommodate on-road riding and heavier loads, while also contributing to increased ride comfort and improved handling.
Also changed is the seat, which is now slimmer at the front and about 30mm wider at the rear. The result is a saddle that better accommodates a wider range of riders, while delivering improved rider comfort on longer rides.
The seat's increased height in the rear means it lines up nicely with the rear rack, which may facilitate easier carrying of larger items.
Kawasaki is confident that the revisions to the model along with its affordable price will help the KLR650 remain Australia's favourite Adventure Touring motorcycle.
The 2014 KLR650 New Edition is available now at Kawasaki dealerships in either Candy Lime Green with Ebony, or Metallic Raw Graystone with Ebony.
