Ixon Yasur – the heated glove for winter urban riding
With winter upon us, the daily commute on those frigid mornings is something none of us look forward to. Same goes for a weekend blast through our favourite twisties – fun in summer, much less so in winter!
Ixon, the pioneer in intelligent heated gloves, has recently released the ‘Yasur’ heated winter glove. Part of Ixon’s IT-Series, the Yasur uses built-in thermoregulation technology to keep your hands at a constant temperature.

Made for urban riding in cold weather, the Yasur glove utilises ‘clim8’ technology that knows when and how to keep your hands warm.
Using the climb8 app (to set and monitor the heating elements), you can calibrate the Yasur to your preferred temperature. Once the temp is set, smart sensors in each glove activate the battery-powered heating element as soon as they detect your hand, automatically warming to the selected temperature. The heating element covers each finger, along with the top and heel of the hand.
Once your preferred temperature has been reached, climb8 tech keeps the gloves at that temperature. Monitoring your hand temperature and app-based settings, the algorithm-driven heating technology means the Yasur never gets too hot or too cold. Because temperatures are pre-set in the app, it’s easier and safer than fiddling with temp settings on other types of heated gloves or heated grips, many of which can’t be adjusted as finitely as the Yasur anyway.
The compact, light lithium-ion battery that powers each glove’s heating element should see out a solid day’s ride before recharging, but battery life does depend on the heat setting (higher temp = shorter life). Batteries should be removed for recharging, and it’s also recommended they be removed whenever the gloves aren’t in use.
The Yasur’s construction combines a waterproof softshell outer with goat leather reinforcement in key impact and abrasion areas. Primaloft insulation maximises the effectiveness of the heating element, while the breathable lining, a combination of polar fleece and micro fleece, maximises comfort. Long cuffs hold the batteries for the heating element, while the Velcro wrist straps use a Tanka rainproof fastening. There are also touchscreen compatible index fingers on each hand.

Yasur urban heated gloves are available in black/blue and men’s XXS-3XL sizes for $379.95 RRP (including batteries and charger). Higher capacity batteries and a charger that connects to your motorcycle battery are available separately.
