Honda reveal 'F6B' factory bagger
Lighter and leaner than the hugely-successful Goldwing tourer it's based on, the most notable features on the F6B are the shorter windscreen and deleted rear top box.
Factory lockable twin panniers are retained, along with the centre console cubbyhole, so the F6B still offers plenty of storage capacity and performance, along with many of the Goldwing's comfort and luxury features.
Other features on the Goldwing F6B include unique seats that provide support for rider and pillion, while the four-speaker sound system continues the Goldwing tradition of listening pleasure, even at speed.
The F6B powerplant is the Goldwing's proven 1,800cc, horizontally opposed SOHC, two-valve, six-cylinder engine that boasts the PGM-FI fuel injection system for smooth power delivery and instant torque.
The lightweight, twin-spar aluminium frame provides strength and is aided by the engine's low centre of gravity to create a chassis that boasts great-handling at all speeds. A Dual Combined ABS braking system provides rapid and secure stopping power on all road surfaces and conditions.
Instrumentation includes larger circular meters, with LCD indicators underneath, in an easy-to-read format.
Honda describe this new breed of Goldwing as "stripped, stylish and smooth, part custom and part cruiser. . . . a touring bike distilled to its very essence."
Two colour schemes will be available on launch: Graphite Black; and Magna Red. The new Goldwing F6B will be available from April, exclusively through Honda Goldwing dealerships at $24,990 (MLP).
