Honda introduces six-year warranty

Honda has introduced a first for the Australian motorcycle market, with a six-year warranty introduced for new Honda road motorcycles. Conditional upon servicing with an authorised Honda dealer and other criteria, the new warranty program triples the level of warranty protection previously available.

Honda Australia says the groundbreaking six-year warranty is designed to provide “continuity, confidence and genuine support across years of riding – not just the day the keys are handed over.”

The new program increases the standard warranty from two to three years, with a further three years of protection available when all scheduled servicing is completed at an authorised Honda dealer. There is no kilometre cap tied to the three- or six-year warranty, and no additional cost. The extended warranty is also transferable should the motorcycle be sold within the warranty period. This will be particularly useful for LAMS riders, as the assurance of a warranty on their motorcycle means it should hold more value when it comes time to sell.

This new warranty protection is applicable to Honda’s entry-level road bikes, like the GB350 and CB125F, as well as the CBR1000RR-R sportsbike, Gold Wing tourer, Africa Twin adventure bike and many more models.

Recent purchasers of new motorcycles from Honda’s on-road range are also covered, with the three-year standard coverage and six-year extended warranty applicable to all eligible models delivered on or after 1 July, 2025.
