Harry Khouri switches teams for 2022 World Supersport 300
Australia’s Harry Khouri will follow up his debut season in the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship with a new team for 2022. On 8 November, Team#109 Kawasaki announced they signed the 17-year-old for the coming year.
For his WorldSSP300 debut this year, Khouri raced for Fusport – Rt Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki, starting strongly with a ninth place in his opening race, followed by point-scoring finishes at a handful of the following races, but several crashes meant he finished the 2021 championship in 31st place.
The teenager from NSW believes the move to Team#109 Kawasaki will help him fight for podiums and victories in 2022.
“I can’t wait to start the 2022 season with Team 109. This year was a huge learning curve, but I’m looking forward to using my experience from this year to get the best possible results.
“My goal for next year is to consistently be up the front and to be in the position to fight for podiums and wins. I really think that this team can help me achieve this and I can’t wait to get started.”
Khouri joins Daniel Mogeda at Team#109 Kawasaki as the Irish squad expands to two riders for 2022. Mogeda made his debut in WorldSSP300 in 2020 and joined Team#109 Kawasaki partway through this year’s season, replacing James McManus. In six starts with Team#109 this year, the 16-year-old Spaniard’s best result was fifth at Magny Cours.
Paul Tobin, Team#109 Kawasaki Prinicipal, was impressed with Mogeda’s results and adds that Khouri has shown potential in his debut season and believes he will represent the team well.
“Coming from Australia to Europe to race motorcycles is not easy but he has done an excellent job. It’s a great prospect for us to have both bikes running at the front next year!”
