Harley unveil Street Bob Limited Edition
The new Street Bob Limited Edition features custom touches inspired by the Harley-Davidson Factory Customization programme, but will only be available in small numbers, and only in select markets, including Australia and New Zealand.
Based on the Dyna platform, H-D say the Street Bob Limited Edition is a stripped-down and rowdy bobber, appealing to riders who appreciate the pure essence of motorcycling. Unlike the stock 96ci-powered Street Bob, the Limited Edition model comes with the 103 cube 103B Twin Cam v-twin as standard.
Aside from the engine upgrade, other notable features on the Limited Edition include the distinctive two-tone scallop paint on the tank (with metalflake finish) and steel laced wheels - complete with attention-grabbing red rims. Like the rest of the locally-delivered Dyna range for 2013, the Street Bob Limited Edition comes with ABS as standard equipment.
The defining elements of the Street Bob are retained for the Limited Edition - a solo seat, chopped rear fender and mini ape-hanger handlebar - which give the Street Bob an unmistakable retro-inspired profile. New styling features include a black-finish Twin Cam 103™ power train with highlighted details, blacked-out front end, as well as a clean rear guard with combination stop/tail/turn lighting.
"Our focus for the Street Bob is on street appeal," said Harley-Davidson Styling Manager Tony Pink. "This bike is for the owner who would order a muscle car with the biggest engine and no radio.
"As part of this restyle, we cleaned off the rear fender, ditched the battery box trim, and bolted on a classic oval air cleaner cover. The goal is to create an elemental Big Twin that a customer can define as his own."
The Harley-Davidson Street Bob Limited Edition is now available. Rideaway price is listed as $23,495 - a $2,000 premium over the stock 96ci FXDB Street Bob. See your Harley dealer for further details.
