Harley supports 2013 Pink Ribbon Ride

This year's Sydney ride event is expected to attract thousands of riders and spectators alike, making it the most popular Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride to date.

Sponsored by Harley-Davidson, the popular and worthy annual fundraising event is run by Sydney-based motorcycle enthusiasts, Girls Ride Out Inc., with all money raised going directly to the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute.

This year's event will kick off with a Fair Day from 9.00am at The Mean Fiddler in Rouse Hill with food and coffee stalls, a Harley-Davidson photo booth and the Harley-Davidson JUMPSTART Rider Experience.

The ride will depart at 10.00am, with riders being joined by celebrity Harley-Davidson enthusiasts, including renowned Australian television presenter James Tobin.

Riders will then head to a half-way checkpoint at a park on the Colo River for refreshments provided by the local Lions club, before returning to The Mean Fiddler.

Director of Marketing, Harley-Davidson Australia, Adam Wright said, "We're looking forward to supporting Pink Ribbon Ride once again. This year is all about family fun and we've made sure there's something for everyone - riders, non-riders and kids alike. Hopefully it will not only be a great community day, but also assist in the fight against breast cancer."

The ride raises money through a small entry fee for riders and pillions, who are also encouraged to get their friends and family to sponsor their participation in the ride.

Selena Thurbon, Founder of Girls Ride Out Inc., explained: "2012 was the largest event to date, with 1,600 riders participating, helping to raise over $80,000. It is always amazing to see the fantastic support and generosity shown by the riding community."
