Gardner signs with Red Bull KTM Ajo for 2021
The eldest son of 1987 500cc World Champion Wayne Gardner, Remy will leave Onexox TKKR SAG Team to start his sixth season in Moto2 with one of the most successful and respected teams on the grid – a team that has achieved two championships and two runner-up positions in the category in the past six years. Red Bull KTM Ajo has also elevated two of its riders to MotoGP in the past two seasons.

"I am very happy to be signing this contract for the team of my dreams,” Gardner said. “I am proud to be part of the Red Bull and KTM family, and of Aki’s structure. I want to thank all of them for giving me this opportunity for 2021. I can't wait to start working with them next year and I hope that together we can do some amazing things."
While only 22 years of age, Gardner has more than 90 starts across Moto2 and Moto3 under his belt. At time of writing, he had secured two pole positions in Moto2 and two podiums: at Argentina in 2019; and Styria (Austria) this year, but a race win is still to come.

Regardless, Red Bull KTM Ajo see potential in the Aussie, citing both his talent and experience as an asset. Gardner will most likely replace Jorge Martin, who is rumoured to be stepping up to MotoGP, possibly with Ducati, in 2021.
“I know that Remy has something special compared to the rest of the competitors: he has great talent, a good feel for the bike and is a born fighter,” said Team Principal Aki Ajo. “I hope that, as a team, we can give him a boost during the season for the style that comes naturally to him. I am personally very excited to have Remy with us, and about what 2021 has in store."
